Shipping Options
Lead Times/Time in Transit
Since our truffles are handmade, and not packaged until we have an
order for them, we sometimes have to push our ship date back to
accommodate the number of orders we get. This is especially true
around the holidays. For your convenience, we list the ship date
on our home page, shopping cart, thank you screen and your email receipt
. We appreciate your understanding--we
really are making them as fast as we can, but we won’t compromise our
freshness and quality!
You’ll notice that our ship dates are usually listed as “the week
of.” This flexibility allows us to take as many orders as we
can handle for each week before pushing the ship date back. We
ship as early in the week as we can (usually Monday, sometimes Tuesday) to try
to avoid having your truffles being in transit over the
weekend.
For ground shipping, we have determined that either UPS or Priority
Mail with Delivery Confirmation provides the best service at the lowest
cost, depending on the destination. It usually takes 2-3 days*.
However, delivery date is not guaranteed, so for packages that have to
be there in 2 business days, or the next business day, we use UPS (please
note: UPS will not deliver to PO Boxes, so please provide a physical address).
*Just like regular mail, around the holidays, extra time should be allowed. While many
packages arrive in 2-3 days during this time, some take several days longer.
So, again, if you need to hit a specific date, please choose
2nd Day Air or Overnight.
Holiday Shipping
Sometimes, depending on the day on which a holiday falls, we will
disable the ground shipping option for that week. Our goal is to
get the truffles to their destination in as direct and timely a manner
as possible. Again, we try to avoid having your truffles stuck in
transit over the weekend or a holiday. If you would like to place
an order for a later week and want to use ground shipping,
please give us a call at (269) 468-9866 and we will take your order over
the phone.
A Word About Warm Weather Shipping
During the warmer months, or to warmer climates (or even if your
truffles will pass through a warmer climate on the way), extra care must
be taken to ensure that your truffles arrive in perfect condition.
That’s why we pack all warm weather shipments in insulated containers
with frozen gel packs (both reusable).
Our goal is to provide you with the lowest cost method of receiving your order in perfect
condition. We conduct on-going tests to make sure we are achieving that goal. Therefore, we may
periodically make changes to the shipping options we offer if we feel they are necessary to ensure
the safety of your precious cargo.
“I received your chocolates...and OH MY
GOODNESS!!!!!!! Talk about chocolate heaven. You are
now my love!!!! Your truffles are the answer to any chocoholic's
dreams. Thank you for the wonderful shipping/packaging...the
precious joys were not damaged in any way and came all intact.
Look for another order shortly. Thanks again.”
